The Montessori School of Westminster:
Preparing students for academic success since 1974

The original Montessori School of Westminster was created by a group of dedicated parents and individuals who chose the Montessori Method as the ideal learning style for their children. The non-profit, parent-run school has been managed by a board and has operated continuously in Carroll County, Maryland since the school opened its doors in 1974.

The Montessori School of Westminster founded its own campus in 2001 on 27 picturesque acres and currently has over 100 students, ranging from age 2 to 15.

Many of our Montessori students progress to the best private schools in the Baltimore/Washington region. Others transition into the public school system with the self-confidence that only a Montessori-educated child can truly appreciate. In nearly all circumstances, a student launched here at the Montessori School of Westminster is a student who continues to seek knowledge through exploration and investigation – now and for the rest of their lives.
